Raindrops on roses and whispers on kittens....
Oh...wait...how many of you know that song? Comment on this post and if you post first, as one of my students, well, I'll buy you a favorite treat. I'm waiting!
I'd like to start doing a weekly "assignment" of sorts to get you started writing in club. When we start club each week, I want you to go to my blog, find the assignment, and spend some time on completing it during club and that week. Have fun with it!
This week, I'd like you all to do a "10 Favorite Things" post so we can learn more about one another. I'd like you to find at least 3 images to post along with them, from the web. Remember to stay within your security guidelines.
Here are 10 favorites of mine:
1) I love dragonflies, particularly blue ones.
2) My husband and my son. (I'm counting as one since they are both from my family).
3) I like hiking.
4) I like mountain biking, something I haven't done for a couple of years since my son was born. I sure hope he likes to do it when he's older!
5) This may seem strange, but I really like war movies. I really get into the characters.
6) I really like journaling. I've kept a journal (well many, many of them!) since I was twelve. I write less now, being a mom, but I love it. I guess that's why I like blogging too.
7) I love spending time with friends and family.
8) I like reading good books.
9) I like taking photos of my family, friends, and daily events, to have as memories, share on my blogs, or scrapbook.
10) I really like blogging and look forward to sharing more with you, and having you share what you learn with me too!
What are 10 of your favorite things? Write a post, then link it back to this post.

Who are your pets?
Readers, I'd love to hear what kind of pets you have!
In our family, we have two dogs, pictured here. Oddly, and you may not believe it, but they are brother and sister from the same litter! They will be 7 years old in January.
My husband also has a saltwater tank with live rock, coral and tropical fish. Let's see if I have any photos of that. There you go, the reef tank and my son, from sometime last February.
When I first met my husband, he had well over 15 snakes. He was really into them. Then we had together, on average, 2-3 green tree boas, until shortly before my son was born. A pair even gave birth to a baby, which was really neat. My husband just found it in the branches that were in the snake's cage. We ended up giving them to another friend who is a science teacher.

Great Job Blog Students!
I am so excited! I just went to my Google Reader, which I'll explain to my students next week and I see anywhere from 3 to 5 new posts, all since Monday! I am so excited to read them.
Students, I want you to try to comment on my blog to show you are reading it, if you are. I did a quick demo on it Monday, but you didn't have a chance to try yourself.

Hi Students!
I want to do a shout out to my blogging students and see who is out there looking. If you're at home, try to comment on this post, to go through the process, like I did on yours. We'll learn more next week too, only we can't access comments from school.

Today is my first post for my BLOG IT! club. This is a demo for my students to see what things look like before they head out the door for the day.
